Rambles..Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
When we first started watching Eternal Sunshine Of the Spotless Mind my first reaction was what the hell are we watching? Some crazy lady with blue hair and bad roots was erasing her " depressed, mopy" boyfriend from her mind because he was boring and not fun ( good reason to erase someone). I pretty much turned off my radar to watching it at all and was concentrating more on my math homework or taking a nap. But to my surprise I actually got really into the movie. I have to admit at first, I didn't like it at all because it gave no backround information about anything and movies like that really frusterated me because I have no idea what is going on and just kinda had to go with the flow. I also have to admit that I am not a " go with the flow kinda person", there has to be structure. Also this movie was one you really had to pay attention to. I remember watching Oceans eleven and having to re-watch scenes and pratcically the entire movie because I had no idea what happened, you really had to watch every detail in order for it to all come through in the end. But in the end I really thought this movie was good and really weird at the same time. One thing that I wanted to know more of is how could someone ever come up with a story like this? Who thinks of someone erasing someone from their mind and then they meet all over again like nothing ever happened? Crazy.

That's the somewhat along the lines of what I was thinking. At first I keep saying that "oh god. Is this going to be another one of those pointless movies." But the further we got into it the more engaged I was. You had to be engaged otherwise you wouldn't understand it completely. I agree too though that the idea to come up with a plot like this was kind of crazy but it turned out to be a really great movie.
Yeah i agree, that is a really insane plot. We didn't watch that movie, but i also agree that i don't like when movies are so wierd and vague that you don't really know whats going on. That can get really frusterating! But it looks like the movie came through for you in the end, and that's good!
I understand what you mean, but I love movies where you have to focus, think and figure it out for yourself. I feel it makes watching it more fun, but I can definitely see where it can get tiring. Like I give up, it's too confusing!
